As part of the joint efforts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the United States of America to end the rising wave of insecurity in the West Africa region and dismantling terrorist cells with their network perpetuating the Christian genocides and expansionism agenda, the Nigeria security architecture led by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu constituted a working and solution driven security template in conjunction with the U. S led by Under Secretary Allison Hooker.
This diplomatic arrangements to ensure religious freedom and strengthening already established security measures in affected communities in Northwest, Northeast and Northcentral Nigeria to counter jihadists and other Islamists disturbing the peace of vulnerable communities.
The recent mass abduction in kajuru where more than 170 worshippers were kidnapped in broad daylight in the southern Kaduna community is another eyesore that Nigeria alone cannot tackle the rising insecurity that have lasted more than a decade.
Freedom of religion, worship and association is one of the fundamental human rights, a society that adopt a particular religion and tolerate religious extremism have laid the foundation for oppression, suppression and fanatism.
A fundamental human rights should not be a privilege granted by terrorists, soft handling of terrorists in the past have emboldened them to attack military convoy, military formation, peaceful agrarian communities and kidnapping innocents school children.
The PDP government handled it with kid gloves and it degenerated into a blood sucking monster the government could not handle, as many northern political figures and elites claimed that attack against Boko Haram is an attack against the North.
The APC government led by Muhammadu Buhari empowered the terrorists and recruited them into the Nigeria Army through a programme called De-radicalization, Rehabilitation and Reintegration, an agenda under the cover of Operation Safe Corridor that forbids prosecuting and use of force against killers but harboring, training, releasing and recruiting repentant terrorists into the Nigeria Army.
Over 2000 Boko Haram fighters graduated from the programme that began in 2015, large numbers of them were recruited into the army, some were set free as good citizens. According to some members of Nigeria army in the theatre of war, released members of Boko Haram that went through operation safe corridor went back to the bush to rejoin the insurgent, while the ones recruited into the army were sabotaging the effort of the military from within, by giving information and releasing military plans to their partners fighting against the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This led to ambush of Nigeria army convoys, attacks on army base, backstabbing during confrontation and decimation of southerners/Christians in the Nigeria armed forces.
How did a fight that started in Bornu state transformed into a mobile one that have cut across different states if there is no expansionist and land grabbing agenda?
If IPOB is a terrorist group, why is the government not taking necessary actions against Miyetti Allah group and other known individuals patronizing this insurgents?
