One of the most influential tribes in Africa are the igbo people of Nigeria, and are well known for their creative, technical and commercial skills especially in trading business activities beyond the shores of Nigeria.
The igbos have preserved their ancient apprenticeship system similar to modern day On-the job training. A system organized to train young boys and girls in a particular business, where they will be learning while serving and getting exposed to daily business and real life scenarios involving the factors of production, and garnering the knowledge, experiences and technical know how to improve competence and build up market confidence.
This system have stood the test of time and have mentor thousands of business owners who have spread into regions in Nigeria and other West Africa countries, impacting those communities and contributing to the commercial development of such areas where they are domiciled and operating.
The foreign adopted ideology of registering young children into religious schools have further contributed to the expansion of terrorism and extremism in Nigeria. An ideology that desecrate indigenous cultural values and reward killing-persecution-kidnapping of people of other faith in the name of fighting for the course of Almighty God will lead such society into implosion and destruction.
Religion is an organized system designed to create morality, ethics and spirituality among the people in reaching the source of the universe for the purpose of maintaining universal balance, peace, harmony and piety.
State controlled religion and culture are all interwoven for the purpose of control and power. In a situation whereby the religion of other state/country is imported into another country, such religion carries the culture, influence, beliefs, traditions, ideologies, Art, science e. t. c and will be introduced into the new society, which may eventually lead to conflicts of interest/superiority over period of time.
The Christian Faith school and the Islamic Ile-kewu (Arabic school) in Nigeria have contributed to the division among the people, because this system have carved an ideology of WE vs THEM in the mind of the young children, perceiving their next door neighbors as infidels and unbelievers, a recipe for sectarian violence and oppression like we are witnessing in some parts of Northern Nigeria where people are being slaughter for their faith, house and businesses destroyed for reasons that are ideology derived.
Countries like China have restricted certain age of children not to be exposed to foreign religion and practices but only Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) . They will decide their faith at the age of 18 when they're grown, understand the rudiments of life and realities rather than myth or superstition.
