The African Giant @ 62 but still crawling like an infant due to retrogressive orientation of leaders

The African Giant at 62 but still crawling like an infant due to retrogressive orientation of corrupt leaders and Mismanagement of common wealth.

The Speech of Amb. Prince Samuel Adesegun Egunjobi in Celebrating the Nigeria Independence Anniversary.

Owo - Ondo State,

Nigeria.

01-10-22

On January 1, 1914, Lord Frederick Lugard, the governor of both the Northern Nigeria Protectorate and the Colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria, signed a document consolidating the two, thereby creating the Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria. Forty-six years later in 1960, Nigeria became an independent state.

The independence of Nigeria from colonial overlords after 62years is yet to reflect in the lives of the young generation, as many of them see Nigeria as a failed British experiment which is ripe for division.

The factors responsible for this notion among the young people is the attitude of the political leaders and other stakeholders through the policies they are formulating which is not reflecting positively in the lives of the people especially the youths but encouraging Unemployment, Terrorism, Cyber crime, Social unrest, Economic meltdown e.t.c

Those factors that contributed to the civil war from 1967 to 1970 are yet to be addressed in 2022, as tribalism, nepotism, mismanagement, civil unrest, marginalisation and agitation for sovereign nation are still promoted among the ethnic nationalities that made up Nigeria.

As a leader and role model for the youths in Nigeria, I want to remind the leaders of Nigeria across the 3 tiers of government to be people oriented when formulating policies and executing project. A government is designed to help the state manage it affairs and resources on behalf of the electorate. The APC Government in Nigeria today are ruling Nigerians like conquered people with utmost nepotism and boldness without remorse for the plight of Nigerians.

The skyrocket inflation has contributed to extreme poverty and hardship which has rendered so many families homeless, the highest since Nigeria became a sovereign Nation in 1960.

The Nigeria Tertiary education sector has been shutdown and been on pause for 8months without resumption in sight, while the children of our clueless leaders and cream de la cream of our society are graduating from a foreign based University, the children of the middle class and the poor are frustrated at home, the idleness of some undergraduates have made them embraced cyber crime, banditry and prostitution as the path to bright future.

It's high time the Nigeria Security architecture is reviewed and power devolve to the state.

The massive influx of mercenaries and Marauders disguising as fulani Herdsmen that are terrorising farmers, rural communities and kidnapping for ransom has shown the inefficiency in the current security arrangement and it need urgent restructuring.

The Southwest Security Initiative codename "Amotekun'' should be strengthen and empower with modern security tools, arms and ammunitions to be proactive in dealing with these Marauders instead of reacting after they have killed and destroyed our properties, as the primary function of Government is protection of lives and property.

The APC led Federal government of Nigeria campaign slogan hinged on the two words during the 2015 pre-election campaign "Change & Restructuring'' but after getting the votes of the people across the 6 geo- political zone that made up Nigeria, the APC Government is yet to fulfilled the restructuring they promised and implement positive reforms except were it favours certain tribe from the northern part of Nigeria e.g construction of Railway from Kano- Kaduna- Maradi (Niger Republic) when there is no rail link between the South-west and South-south that contributed 70% of the country's revenue.

So I throw this question to our leaders who have perfected the script of fake campaign promises as the campaign for the 2023 general election commence, WHERE ARE WE GOING AS A NATION?
