The climate change actors have tasked global leaders and policy makers to reduce air pollution and other effects of burning of crude oil(carbon monoxide) in the atmosphere. The need for clean and renewable energy made researchers, scientists and non governmental organizations recommended the necessary shift from relying on crude oil for automobile but incorporation of electricity and compressed natural gas (CNG) to power machines, motor vehicle and other engines needed in the manufacturing industry.

The automobile industry adopted the argument for clean and renewable energy, innovating old engines to assimilate electricity, also invented new engines that can run effectively, clean, environmental friendly, cost efficient and reliable, using gas and solar energy; reducing the need and reliance for fossil fuels.

The World Health Organization (W.H.O) and other medical practitioners have identified the output of engines that operates on crude oil to be poisonous and harmful to health, environment and ecosystem.

In Nigeria, their are reports of power generator exhaust killing families and others who ignorantly placed the machine closed to their abode or inside their home.

One of the most deadly pollutants identified by scientists is the carbon monoxide, exhausted from the operation of engines that run on crude oil, which is very harmful to the health of the people and climate.

The Nigeria government have initiated different programmes to ensure that the awareness on CNG vehicles are well spread and accepted by the populace who have operated petroleum powered engines for many years.

The Federal Government of Nigeria in order to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy and surge of transportation cost increase, imported Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Electricity powered buses into the country and distributed across geo-political zones for mass transit and alternative to petrol powered engines which the country is known for.

The reliance on electricity to power electronics at homes have reduced, and many households now rely on solar power installations. With many businesses and individuals investing and procuring solar batteries with panels to generate power needed for their homes and offices, making them independent and reducing their expectations from the supply of electricity from the regional and national grid.

In Lagos for example, the government and private companies have set up recharging spot for users of electric vehicles in the city to access and visit for charging their engines.

The strategic deployment of CNG buses to help in mass transportation of people and goods, with plans to expand rail transportation to network regions of the country have been commended and influencing workers in transport sector to acquire CNG and electric power vehicles as clean, reliable and cost effective alternative.

As one of the climate actors in Africa, renowned advocate for the promotion of SDG's driven principles in West Africa and youth led Non-Governmental Organization headquarter in Nigeria, The Samuel Egunjobi Empowerment Foundation and Rebuild Afrika Foundation will continue to promote awareness for clean energy transition and awareness in the world.
