The electoral coup in Guinea Bissau and invitation to military takeover

Few days ago, a news broke out that military officers have taken over control of government and announcing the suspension of ongoing collation of electoral results in Guinea Bissau.
The subversion of Constitution order on the eve of announcement of election results has resulted into global reaction and condemnation, as this illegal action by the military authorities is undermining the right to franchise of the electorates of the West African country.
The President of Guinea Bissau Umar sissoco Embalo who was seen granting virtual interview with international news company same day after coup was announced, this has led to questioning and suspicion of the intention behind the military take over or military hand over.
The trend of military coup is gaining momentum in West Africa with Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali exiting ECOWAS, and forming the Alliance of the Sahel States (AES).
The recent statements of international observers and members of the West Africa Elders Forum (WAEF) who were trapped in the country but later escorted out of the country before the closure of borders by Military leaders. The former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck E. Jonathan who witnessed the electoral process and the event that led to military taking over the country, has condemned the action and portrayed it as a ceremonial coup orchestrated by the civilian authorities in conjunction with the military leadership of the country.
The opposition candidate Fernando Dias And incumbent Umar Embalo has both claimed victory before official announcement of results before military intervention and hijacked.
According to media reports, soldiers toppled the civilian leadership in a swift power grab before official election results could be announced and installed Major-General Horta as transitional president.
