The culture of destroying and maligning the image of others because of their choice of political camp and alignment should be eradicated as our democracy is growing.

In the past, election is perceived to be a contest where the winner takes it all, deploying all available means and bloody tactics similar to political conquest, with the highest polling candidate subjecting others to political incarceration, exile, witch-hunting and other means of subjugation so that they never rise again to pose a challenge in future electoral contest.

Maturity requires time and experience, as a nation with over 25years of democratic experience and governance system, established on democratic tenets, values, ideologies and supporting institutions to ensure it thriving, our democracy should be emulated by other countries if truly the government of the people is working for the people, and not only the representative of the people in corridor of power.

Leadership requires many valuable resources but intelligence, vision, initiatives, wisdom, managerial abilities and track record cannot be under emphasized or relegated for frivolities. Politics and content creation should be differentiated, and he/she that must come forward in representing the people at the National/Zonal/State/Councillorship level must be tested, questioned, examined and must be a good student of history.

The era of opportunistic representative is gone, is either you are equipped with all necessary values needed to be leader and policy maker, understand the root cause of the problems of the people and providing practical solutions to the identified problems through organized manifesto, and also strategies for transforming the threats into opportunities for collective development.

When a fool is elected on the platform of a political party, His constituency/state/country is governed under his myopic rules, the wise are under the confinement of his anti people policies, the strong will gradually lose their strength and voice due to economically crippling principles that will emanate from his binding actions and choices.

I'm a leader in my office, church, association, mosque, family house e. t. c doesn't necessarily translate to becoming a leader in a multicultural society made up of people across different faiths, profession, family background and associations.

Vote wisely and embrace a bright future, Vote wrongly and continue studying the book of Lamentations.
