Hassan Al Turabi, a sudanese islamic scholar and politician initiated the 1989 coup that enthroned Omar Al Bashir and they both introduced Sharia into Sudan which laid the foundation for the jihad killings of other ethnic nationalities and wiping out of black muslims in Sudan by RSF( A group of Pastoralist and Shura arab militias) and the fall of El -Fasher in 2025.

The insurgency in Nigeria started with Boko haram, which later metamorphose into ISWAP West Africa operating in Bornu and Yobe state. The coming into power of late Muhammadu Buhari as the President of Nigeria empowered and emboldened this group of Fulani terrorist with an association known as Miyetti allah and influential individuals serving as their spokesperson and defending them of their heinous crimes across different communities.

The insecurity and terrorism became a mobile one with the herdsmen (Pastoralist) as the agents for this agenda moving across the country and targeting farmers, Christians, travelers, markets, villages, towns and other places across the North, with the middlebelt under Fulani herdsmen bandits occupation and expansion into Southwest and other parts of Nigeria.

It's an historical fact that Balogun Oderinlo and other Ibadan war generals defended Yoruba land and defeated the Fulani jihad in Osogbo in 1840, and put a stop to there land grabbing mission after the death of Afonja. This victory encouraged Ibadan to extend the campaign to Ekiti and other towns in the north that had been threatened by Ilorin since 1835.

As a concern and patriotic citizen, I am calling on traditional stakeholders, political leaders, security agencies, vigilantes, OPC and Civil society groups in Southwest Nigeria to develop a proactive measure to combat the threat encroaching Yoruba land with swift attention to flush out terrorists operating in Kwara and Kogi state before major escalation into southern part of Nigeria.
