In one of the verses of the holy odu ejiogbe in Ifa philosophy and spirituality, orunmila cast divination for the fish to be grateful and be contented with his possession, and should be mindful of free things and was advised to sacrifice. The fish responded that he was broke and could not sacrifice, he left and didn't follow the advice (disobedience).
Some days later, the fishermen went to the sea for fishing, so the fishermen after trying and toiling on the water surface couldn't get any fish with his net, so the fishermen decided to offer a greek gift using an earthworm which is one of the favourite food of all fishes.
It's not easy to find an earthworm in the sea, except you can dig deep into the ground to find one, which is a difficult task for all fishes yet they love the earthworm because of the satisfaction and enjoyment they derived from it.
The fish has forgotten the message of the Oracle that he should be mindful of free things and because he didn't sacrifice, his consciousness couldn't prompt him to remember the message or make a wise choice.
The fishes in the water discovered a flowing earthworm on the surface of the water, some were happy but at the same time they were worried because of the tiny rope holding the fish, and were afraid to catch it.
The greedy and gluttony fish saw it and decided to grab the free lunch, unknowing to him, a hook is underneath the dangling earthworm. In the process of catching and enjoying the free earthworm as food for lunch, the fish was caught by the hook and couldn't free itself. He remember the message of the Oracle but it was too late, so the fish became the food of the fisherman.
Moral of the story: the gods are wise and following their instructions can save one from destruction or death. Learn to say no sometimes to free offer, we are only seeing the face not the hidden intention (Greek gift) destiny swap is real and mankind needs to be careful.
