Yesterday, I visited the National Museum located at the Largest Palace in Africa, The Ancient Palace of Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria (West Africa). As part of the commitment of the Rebuild Afrika Foundation in promoting the history of African culture and tradition, In empowering the youths and the next generation with the knowledge of Africa from the real sources (Traditional Leaders, Museum & others) other than internet search and guess work.
Alot of Africans are educated with the European system of education which denies them learning in their mother tongue, and majority of the African children especially in Nigeria private and public schools have been indoctrinated to see the African culture as uncivilized and our ancestral tradition as demonic.
I want to use this opportunity to call on Policy makers, State actors, Leaders of thoughts, Ministry of Education, Teachers, Private school owners, African based NGOs and other stakeholders to incorporate "Culture and History of Africa'' in the educational curriculum from the Primary School to the University level.
In my journey across Africa, Have met Professors and Doctorate degree holders across different fields but am yet to meet with the Professor of African Culture, History and Tradition.
Special thanks to Mr. Rotifa Ayobami for his relentless effort in showcasing the richness of African culture to the world and the significance of history to the Sustainable Development of Africa.
